[News Release] To implement the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen cultural and artistic exchanges and cooperation between Cambodia and China in the film and television sector, and support the development of the Chengdu–Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, a delegation from the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, accompanied by leaders of The Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association, visited Sichuan Film and Television University from November 8 to 10 and attended the Chengdu–Chongqing Film and Television Development Conference.
The delegation included Mr. Lim Yousour, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Cultural Affairs and Technology; Mr. Pok Borak, Director of Cinema and Cultural Diffusion Department; Mr. Huoy Socheat, Deputy Director; as well as other officials of the Ministry. They were accompanied by Mr. Lin Youyuan, Chief Representative (China Region) of The Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association; Luo Junwei, Vice President of the Association; and Yang Shurong, CEO of X Capital Investment Co., Ltd.
The delegation was received and accompanied by Ding Liu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Dayi County Government; Zhang Bo, Director of the Management Department of the Xiling Snow Mountain Huashuiwan Tourism Resort Area under the Xiling Ice and Snow Anren Cultural Tourism Administration; and Zhang Li, Chief of the Foreign Affairs Section of the Dayi County Party Committee Office.
Sichuan Film and Television University Vice President Yan Jie, along with Qing Qian, Director of the Comprehensive Office of the International Exchange Center, and other staff, warmly welcomed the visiting guests.
During the exchange activities, the delegation visited the Sichuan Film and Television Creative City, where they toured the studio cluster, the props and costume center, the film museum, and the digital virtual studio. They experienced firsthand the professional capabilities and industrial vitality of the university’s film and television training base. Director Pok Borak highly praised the university’s educational achievements and expressed admiration for the vigorous growth of China’s film and television industry.
The Sichuan Film and Television Creative City was jointly developed by Sichuan Film and Television University and Fuwensi Pictures. Integrating international-standard studios, a costume and prop center, and a full-industry-chain laboratory, it also leverages Dayi County’s world-class IP tourism resources to create immersive historical streetscapes and an interactive scene system.
After the tour, both sides exchanged gifts at the university’s History Museum, symbolizing the goodwill and friendship between them.
On the morning of November 10, Director Pok Borak of the Director of Cinema and Cultural Diffusion Department and Chen Jinxing, Assistant to the President of The Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association, attended the 2025 Chengdu–Chongqing Film and Television Development Conference upon invitation. The conference was hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Radio and Television, the Chongqing Municipal Administration of Radio and Television, and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and organized by Sichuan Film and Television University, under the theme “AI Without Boundaries · New Horizons for Film and Television — Building a New Digital Ecosystem for Chengdu–Chongqing Film and Television.”
This visit further strengthened mutual understanding, enhanced consensus on cooperation, and deepened the intention for bilateral collaboration in the film and television sector. Sichuan Film and Television University will continue to promote the implementation of China–Cambodia cooperation projects, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries and advancing cultural exchange and mutual learning.
