Cambodia and China deepen cultural cooperation and work together to promote Khmer civilization

The two sides held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding in a friendly atmosphere, aiming to establish a long-term strategic cooperative relationship and jointly promote Cambodian culture to the international stage.
This cooperation aims to enhance the global influence of Cambodian culture through multiple channels and digital methods, while attracting more international tourists, especially tourists from China, to visit and attract foreign investment in cultural-related projects in Cambodia.

The Secretary of State emphasized that culture is a bridge connecting people’s hearts, and he hopes that China and Cambodia will take this cooperation as an opportunity to continuously deepen cooperation in the fields of tourism, film and television, digital culture, etc., jointly tell the contemporary expression of Khmer civilization, and help Cambodian culture go global.

According to the signed memorandum of understanding and cooperation, the two parties will cooperate in the following five key areas, namely, 1. Exhibition and digitalization projects: Jointly hold Khmer cultural relics exhibitions, digital art exhibitions, etc. to showcase Cambodian history and culture. 4. Performing Arts Exchange: With the support of China, organize Khmer dance troupes to perform in China to promote cultural exchanges. 5. Cultural Heritage Use Authorization: Authorize partners to legally use the images and names of Cambodian cultural relics for non-commercial cultural dissemination and digital creation.
