    Delegation from China Shanghai Electric, accompanied by leading cadres from The Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association (CCFCA), visited the Phnom Penh Municipal Government on the morning of March 12, and was warmly received and welcome by Deputy Mayor Gao Cai.     Mr. Ji Yong, General Manager of Shanghai Electric’s South China Headquarters, expressed his sincere gratitude to H.E Gao Cai, Deputy Mayor of Phnom Penh, for taking the time to personally receive the delegation. He introduced that the Shanghai Electric delegation conducted an inspection and research in Cambodia from March 10 to 14, mainly investigating waste and sewage treatment in Phnom Penh and other areas.

    General Manager Ji Yong pointed out that Shanghai Electric is a core industry group focusing on the development of energy conservation and environmental protection, pollution control, and green energy. Over the past 40 years since China’s reform and opening up, it has also faced the impact of environmental pollution during the urbanization development stage. As a result, China has achieved many gratifying results in the fields of technology research and development in the environmental protection industry. Therefore, This Business study’s visit and research will pave the way for Shanghai Electric to invest in Cambodia in the future, especially bringing the company’s best experience and knowledge in the field of environmentally friendly energy to Cambodia, and is committed to participating in improving environmental protection and pollution control such as water sources, solid waste and atmosphere. issues, and then actively participate in improving the appearance of Phnom Penh city.

    At the ceremony, H.E Gao Cai, deputy mayor of Phnom Penh, expressed his warm welcome to the Shanghai Electric delegation for their Business visit study and research in Cambodia, and gave strong support to the company’s intention to invest in environmentally friendly energy fields such as waste and sewage treatment in Phnom Penh.

    He introduced that Cambodia’s rapid economic development in recent years has promoted the acceleration of urbanization. The continuous expansion of the capital, Phnom Penh, has led to a substantial increase in the urban population, resulting in huge challenges in waste and sewage treatment management. The Royal Government and the Phnom Penh City Government are committed to taking measures to solve the above problems, namely the construction of basic measures such as sewage treatment stations and landfills, so he welcomed companies to carry out environmentally friendly energy fields such as waste into energy, sewage treatment and recycling investment.

    In response to the company’s plan to invest in Cambodia, H.E Vice Mayor Gao Cai suggested that the company cooperate with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) to enable the company’s investment projects to be successfully implemented and to obtain other preferential investment policies.
