    After the visited, the two sides met to discuss and exchange views on the general situation of the energy market and environmental issues in Cambodia, with the participation of Mr. GU ZHIQIANG, President of Shanghai Electric Group and Mr. GU ZHAN, CEO of the company. Shanghai Electric Environmental Protection Group and many other colleagues.

    First of all, Mr. GU ZHIQIANG. Welcomed H.E Preap Kol and the Cambodian delegation who visited the company today. He said that the relationship between China and Cambodia has existed for a long time, and the traditional friendship between our two countries in recent years has become even closer and stronger, leading to China being known as a steel friend.

    He recalled that as a child, he often saw the image of King Norodom Sihanouk on Chinese television, and those scenes were always etched in his mind. He said that every day always monitor the development in Cambodia, especially the Funan canal project, which just opened a construction site a few days ago. At the same time, he also congratulated Cambodia on this achievement.

    Mr. GU ZHIQIANG said the Company Shanghai Electric Environmental Protection Group A subsidiary of the company Shanghai Electric​ Group A company specializing in new energy, power plants, biogas, solid waste management, wastewater treatment and industrial construction. He said that the company is currently expanding the market to Southeast Asia, especially Cambodia. He said that Cambodia is developing rapidly, so the problem of electricity and waste storage.

    Waste is a concern for the government. Therefore, the company intends to cooperate with the Cambodian side to build a power plant by burning waste in Phnom Penh. Hopefully, the Minister and the Association will facilitate and promote this work. Achieve success.

    H.E Preap Kol stated that the source of electricity in Cambodia comes from hydropower, coal burning, solar and imports from neighboring countries, and most of the hydropower is invested by Chinese companies. He said that the principle of the Royal Government of Cambodia is to produce electricity in accordance with the actual needs to avoid generating more electricity than needed.

    And now the government is planning to expand more electricity to supply domestically and sell abroad, but we need partners to invest.

     

     

     

     

    He welcomed the Shanghai Electric Environmental Protection Group, which wishes to cooperate with the Cambodian side in building a power plant by burning waste in Phnom Penh, as Cambodia is growing rapidly. Especially in Phnom Penh, therefore, the issue of garbage storage is still a major concern for the Royal Government

    He added that Cambodia is now politically stable and peaceful, and asked Chinese companies to invest in Cambodia with confidence and invite Mr. GU ZHIQIANG to visit Cambodia.
