[News Report] H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Ministry of Tourism, recently met with a delegation led by Mr. Tong David, Chairman of X Capital Investment Co., Ltd. and Honorary President of the Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association.

During the meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in tourism promotion, advancing the development of digital tourism, and accelerating the implementation of several key collaborative projects aimed at enhancing Cambodia’s tourism industry and expanding cooperation between Cambodia and China.

Also attending the meeting were H.E. Hang Sandap, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism; H.E. Khorn Choeu, Senior Advisor to the Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association; Mr. Chea Khorn, Vice President of the Association; Ms. Ear Sophea, Chief Executive Officer of X Capital Investment Co., Ltd.; together with other representatives from Cambodia and China.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress achieved in promoting Cambodian tourism, developing digital tourism platforms, and advancing X Capital’s key projects. They also held in-depth discussions on strengthening the promotion of Cambodia as a tourism destination and attracting more Chinese tourists and investors to the country.

Mr. Tong David expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Tourism’s longstanding support for the company and introduced the achievements of X Capital Investment Co., Ltd. and the Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association in exploring Cambodia’s tourism potential and advancing digital tourism development. He stated that the company is currently focusing on three flagship projects: the “Angkor Smile” Exhibition, the Cambodia National Shop, and the Angkor App.

Among these initiatives, the “Angkor Smile” Exhibition showcases Angkor civilization and the cultural charm of Cambodia to local audiences through cultural exhibitions held in China. The Cambodia National Shop promotes distinctive Cambodian products through physical retail outlets established in China. Meanwhile, the Angkor App provides visitors with one-stop access to tourism information and related services.

By leveraging digital technology, these projects aim to further promote Cambodia’s cultural heritage, tourism resources, and distinctive products, while enhancing the country’s visibility and influence in both the Chinese and international markets.

Mr. Tong David also expressed his hope that the Ministry of Tourism would continue to provide support and assistance to ensure the smooth implementation of the above projects and help them achieve even greater results.

H.E. Huot Hak highly commended the contributions made by X Capital Investment Co., Ltd. and the Cambodia China Friendship Collaboration Association in actively promoting Cambodian culture and tourism. He noted that these initiatives not only help enhance Cambodia’s international image, but also further strengthen friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Cambodia and China.

H.E. the Minister encouraged the company to continue improving its digital tourism platform by enhancing its functions and user experience, so as to provide travelers with more convenient and efficient tourism services.

He also expressed his hope that the company would actively present Cambodia’s true and objective development progress to the international community. He emphasized that Cambodia has long maintained peace, stability, and security—key strengths that not only provide a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the tourism sector, but also continue to strengthen the confidence of international tourists and investors.

H.E. the Minister stated that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Royal Government has identified tourism as a key pillar of national economic growth. The government continues to promote the high-quality development of the tourism sector and further strengthen Cambodia’s competitiveness as an international travel destination.

It is understood that X Capital Investment Co., Ltd. was established in 2023 and focuses on investment and project development in the fields of culture, tourism, and digital innovation.

The company is currently advancing three major projects: the “Angkor Smile” Exhibition, the Cambodia National Shop, and the Angkor App. Through these initiatives, X Capital is committed to promoting Angkor civilization, Cambodia’s cultural heritage, distinctive products, and tourism resources in the Chinese and international markets.

Among these initiatives, the inaugural “Angkor Smile” Exhibition was successfully held in Beijing, attracting more than 7,000 visitors. Its online digital promotion campaign also reached over 2 million people in China, demonstrating the project’s strong effectiveness in enhancing awareness of Cambodia’s tourism brand and expanding its presence in the Chinese tourism market.
